Black Russian
“Black Russian” is one of Russia’s first immersive theatrical performances based on the unfinished novel "Dubrovsky" by an acclaimed russian poet Alexander Pushkin. An impressive production that put together the elements of traditional theater, neoclassical music, video art and even contemporary dance, directed by one of the most critically acclaimed russian artist Maxim Didenko. Produced by interactive theater visionary — "Ecstátic”.
We got engaged to create and manufacture a series of merchandise for the “Black Russian” gift shop. The primary goal was to capture the experience of the participants within simple objects available for purchase. Channeling the spirit of the play, we have put together a reinterpretation
of items that hold the atmosphere of the 19th century mysterious aristocracy. Intricate yet simple memorabilia was a crucial component of our work — the outside had to match the elegance
of the content.
